Description

A selection of the Coast Redwood from Al's Nursery in Portola Valley. Has blue-green color and needles somewhat longer than most redwoods. Native from Curry Co. in Oregon to Monterey Co. in California, the Coast Redwood never grows far from the sea and its attend-ant summer fog. Plant in sun to part-shade and give plenty of water. Very fast growing, as much as 6' a year. In the garden these trees will grow 60 to 80', sometimes more. If your site is farther inland than the Bay Area, you may want to plant S. giganteum.
