Malacothamnus niveus - San Luis Obispo Bush Mallow

Description

This evergreen shrub grows 6 to 8 feet tall in sunny, hot, dry conditions. Panicles of delicate fragile-looking flowers bloom on this rugged appearing plant. These pink flowers contrast nicely with the fuzzy-grey foliage. Protect the roots from gophers by lining the sides and bottom of the planting hole with wire mesh. Good plant for erosion control.
