Description

This perennial buckwheat has showy umbrellas of yellow flowers borne about 1'high, above the basal leaves. Flowers of this species vary from yellow to creamy-white, but our seedlings are from a true yellow plant. Blooms May-July. This buckwheat is found on dry rocky walls and slopes in Northern California between the Sierran and coast ranges. It can withstand hot and dry conditions and needs a sunny situation.
