Description

Red Fir makes a very pretty, symmetrical tree. This fir is commonly grown for living and cut Christmas trees. Native in the Cascades of southern Oregon, on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada, and in the North Coast Ranges. Found on dry, rocky slopes 5,000' to timberline. Give it good drainage, sun, and occasional water when young, and it can range from 60' - 200' in height. These trees are said to be difficult to grow at lower elevations.
