Athyrium niponicum pictum var. - Japanese Painted Fern

Description

Prized for its beautiful multicolored fronds, the Japanese Lace Fern is a tough, decidous fern reaching 2 by 2 feet. Native to China, Korea, and Japan, it is extremely hardy and will take bright indirect light to fairly deep shade, although the metallic coloration of the leaves is enhanced with more light. A nice humus-rich soil is best, and should not be allowed to dry out.
