Claytonia sibirica - Siberian Candy-flower

Description

This is a dainty, short lived perennial of moist places. It forms a rosette of long narrow deep green leaves on red stems, topped by small white flowers that brighten a garden's moist shady nooks. The Siberian Candy Flower reseeds freely and mixes well with other shade plants. It reaches the southern limit of its range in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and is found as far North as Alaska.
