Ceanothus lemmonii - Wild Lilac

Description

A member of Yellow Pine Forest and Foothill Woodland communities from the western Sierra Nevada, Tuolumne county north, and the inner coast ranges, Lake county north. One of the smaller Ceanothus, 2-3' tall by 3-4' wide, this has a dramatic, low, spreading habit. Light grey bark contrasts nicely with deep green foliage. Flowering is profuse, vivid light blue flowers apppear from April to June.
