Arctostaphylos - Manzanita

Description

A possible natural hybrid of A. uva-ursi and A. columbiana. It grows to about 2 feet tall and has bright red branches and leathery dark green leaves. Spreads faster than A. uva-ursi. Use as a groundcover in the sun on the coast and high shade inland. Protect from hot afternoon sun. Probably requires occasional summer watering, especially inland.
