Abies grandis - Grand Fir

Description

This Fir grows in mixed evergreen forests and coastal forests from British Columbia east to Montana and south through Washington and Oregon to the Coast Ranges of northern California. It can reach 270' but most often grows to between 90 and 180'. The trunk grows very straight and only gradually tapers. The beautiful long branches first droop, then lift near the end.
