Description

A very drought and heat resistant tree native to rocky slopes and canyons in the Santa Lucia Mountains of Monterey Co. This tree is rather slow growing, 70' in 50 years. Of a limited range in the wild, this tree is widely planted as an ornamental because of its graceful, draping branches. The whitish underside of the leaves give a silvery cast to the foliage. If planting in California's interior give some shade and water.
