Description

This Manzanita forms a round, dome-shaped canopy of smooth dark red bark, with attractive with grey fuzzy leaves, as it matures. It usually reaches 6' - 8' in height, with equal spread. The rare Mt. Diablo Manzanita is native to dry sandstone slopes between 500' - 2000' in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. An elegant shrub that opens its pink flowers from December into January. Providing winter forage for hummingbirds, and other creatures.
