Description
Previously considered a hybrid of A. uva-ursi and A. glandulosa, but now considered a distinct species, this manzanita is endemic to one sandstone outcrop on San Bruno Mountain. It is a small-leaved, burl-forming groundcover, growing to 2' high and spreading. The leaves are a pastel green with a serrate margin. Flowers are white. Considered to be rare and endangered due to it's "limited" range, though it has made circulations throughout the nursery trade over the years. Prefers to be planted in part shade. Water occasionally, more often in hot summer areas. Very unlikely for us to ever sell this plant again, but we keep the page around for informational purposes.
