Small succulent common on rocky coastal hillsides and bluffs from Monterey County all the way up into southern Oregon. Adorable fat little rosettes of foliage are anywhere from bright green to powedery silver almost always tipped with red due to sun exposure. Leaf tips are generally obtuse and have a swolen look to them. Flower stalks are anywhere from green to red- they can grow up to 2' and are topped with little yellow tubular flowers in summer. Excellent choice for rock gardens or borders, even rock walls. Thrives in poor soil. Plant in full sun or light shade on the coast. Inland give part sun and occasional water.
