Vaccinium ovatum 'Wunderlich' - Huckleberry

Description

'Wunderlich" is an exceptionally vigorous cultivar of our native Vaccinium ovatum which was selected by Susan Schettler. Its habit is to form a dense thicket of closely branched stems which grow to 8 feet in height or more. New foliage growth is a beautiful glosssy bronze. Clusters of small white flowers grace the shrub in spring, followed by tart, blue-black berries in late summer and early fall. In your garden provide a well-drained , acid soil. If on the coast sun or shade is appropriate, inland provide shade.
