Artemisia pycnocephala - Sand Hill Sage

Description

This perennial shrub grows 2-3' high and wide with soft silvery foliage. Blooms June-August with spikes of small, inconspicuous yellow flowers. Grow in full sun on coast or with a little shade inland. Pinch back occasionally to keep the plant dense and bushy. Drought tolerant but will appreciate occasional water in summer. This plant is a local native found along the coast throughout Northern California.
