Description
Evergreen small tree 9-20' tall and 10' wide. Lush leaves with white felty undersides are the largest of any ceanothus. Deer love them. Large 5" flower clusters are a soft blue and appear Feb.- May. Easy and fastgrowing, adaptable to many conditions such as heavy soil and shade. Drought tolerant when established. Prefers sun and dry, with occasional water away from the coast. Long-lived, often to 30 yrs. or more. Hardy to 10-18 F. Native to brushy slopes on the Channel Islands.
