Description

A very beautiful penstemon with stems up to 3 ft. tall. The grey-green leaves are somewhat succulent and contrast nicely with the violet flowers which appear from April to July. These have strong, dark stripes as nectar guides. The staminode is striking; densely yellow and hairy. Plant in full sun, in a dry location with good drainage. Good for the dry border. Native to dry slopes in Ventura, Kern and Tulare Cos. and locally from Mt. Hamilton to Santa Lucia Mtns.
