Description

This perennial makes a nice groundcover for the shade garden, with dense felty leaves reaching about a foot high and spreading several feet. Delicate sprays of white flowers bloom from may to July. In nature it is found on moist shady banks. Its common name comes from the seed capsules which resemble, you guessed it, sugar scoops. It is found from the Santa Cruz Mountains north into Alaska.
