Equisetum sp - Dwarf Horsetail

Description

This is a delightful, diminutive version of the common horsetail, or scouring rush. Ideal in a miniature water garden where it will spread, but not grow taller than 1 ft. For a compact look, or to control spreading, it can be planted in a pot, which can then be placed in wet ground. Plants go dormant in winter. They belong to a very ancient group of plants, and have a very distinct look. This dwarf form is from the high Sierra.
