Description

This cultivar is a hybrid of Salvia clevelandii and Salvia leucophylla. It was a chance seedling found at Las Pilitas Nursery, and introduced by Bert Wilson. It can grow to about 6' tall with a spread of about 8', but can be kept smaller. Bright, blue-violet flowers appear in profusion in spring. This sage wants full sun, and is drought tolerant when established. Perfect for a well-drained rocky bank, background to a dry border, or as an eye-catching accent. It is a favorite of hummingbirds. Considered tolerant of salt spray, so an excellent selection for a coastal or inland garden.
