Fallugia paradoxa - Apache Plume

Description

This member of the Rosaceae family is found on dry rocky slopes in pinyon-juniper woodlands in the eastern desert mountains. It is a summer bloomer, sporting delicate white flowers. The fruit developes into bunches of achenes, each achene adorned by a long beautiful, feathery pink plume.
