Description

This ceanothus is a fabulous groundcover. It forms a bright green mat. Staying under 1 foot high, it can spread to 8' wide. The flowers are a delicate medium blue. Their 1" clusters appear April to May. Protect from hot sun, give filtered afternoon shade inland and full sun on the coast. It likes well-drained soil. Tip prune often for dense growth. This ceanothus will do best with occasional summer water. This species is found in the wild on Hearst Ranch of coastal San Luis Obispo County.
