Helianthemum scoparium - Sunrose

Description

This is a small, delicate perennial with bright yellow flowers in spring and summer. A good plant for the sunny rock garden, where its bright green leaves make a nice contrast to plants with gray foliage. This member of the Rockrose family needs only occasional water. It is native from Santa Barbara County to Mendocino County, ranging throughout the foothills.
