Dryopteris atrata - Shaggy Shield Fern

Description

Fern native to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan and China. Distinctive species recognized by the masses of long, slender black scales. Plants require well-drained soil, shade to partial sun and plenty of moisture. Easy to grow even in cold climates. In a container it prefers its soil MOIST-DRY.
