Description

This evergreen shrub or small tree has an upright habit with arching branches. Distinguished in fall by a longlasting feathery plume attached to the seed. Tolerates most soils and conditions but prefers good drainage. Very drought tolerant when established but plants appreciate some summer irrigation. Sun or light shade. Native to dry slopes and foothills from Oregon to Baja California, and locally.
