Carex nudata - Sedge

Description

Grasslike in appearance, this sedge is bold, and graceful. Lovely at the edge of a pond, or a moist spot in the garden. It grows quickly in light shade or full sun, to form a 2' clump of long narrow leaves. The blossoms are small, dark, and inconspicuos, and appear along with new growth in the spring. Common in rocky stream beds in most of california.
