Description
A loosely branched, more or less deciduous shrub, Deer Brush grows to 12' tall, with green or yellowish branches. Flower color is most often white, but sometimes pale blue, and very rarely a pale pink. Blooms May to July. Foliage is a verdant green and herbaceous- a lovely snack for deer so beware! Plant in sun to light shade. This shrub is water tolerant as well as drought tolerant. Found primarily through the inner coast ranges from Santa Cruz Co. south to Ventura Co., dry slopes and ridges.
