Description

An evergreen, upright shrub reaching a height of 8-10'. Inconspicous, cream colored flowers are followed by red-brown then black berries from July to October. The berries are an excellent source of food for birds, making this shrub a must for the wildlife gardener. Takes full sun to full shade, but stays denser the more exposed it is. Drought tolerant and not soil fussy. Native to the coast and inland hillsides below 3500' almost the whole length of the state.
