Description
Probably our most shade tolerant groundcover Manzanita, 'Wood's Compact' has dark green foliage, pinkish white flowers, and some of the largest and reddest berries of any of the Manzanitas. It is a very dense grower to a foot tall and several feet wide. Drought and sun tolerant on the coast, it should be given at least afternoon shade and monthly watering inland. A good groundcover under oaks and other trees. Fallen leaves should be raked out of it at least once a year.
