Description

False Solomon's Seal is found in cool coastal forests and middle-elevation pine woods from areas in central western California, Oregon and east to Arkansas. It is frequently found with fairy bells. The stems never branch and the small flowers are massed into showy clusters of fragrant white stars at the ends of the leafy branches. They are followed by round marble-like speckled or red-striped berries. They colonize quickly. Wants good drainage, shade, and to be dry when dormant., although they can handle some summer irrigation.
