Description:
Native to moist places throughout the state, including the Bay Area, this wonderful native rose forms thickets up to 5' tall and wide. The single rosy-pink flowers are nearly 2" across, and quite fragrant. Flowers appear from mid-spring through the summer. After blooming bright red rose hips appear, which are a major source of food for wildlife. Very useful as a barrier plant, and as a soil stabilizer. Prefers full sun to at least half a day of direct light, and regular water. California Wild Rose is adaptable to many different soil types, including clay.
