Penstemon heterophyllus 'Margarita BOP' - Blue Bedder Penstemon

This vigorous, beautiful selection is from Bert Wilson of Las Pilitas Nursery- a volunteer hybrid of Penstemon heterophyllus and likely P. laetus. 1' spikes of stunningly showy blue to purple flowers can appear as early as March and continue into the fall, if the plant is pruned occasionally. This plant is unfussy and very easy to grow with a lot of payoff, probably the reason it's one of our best sellers! Beautiful combined with native grasses as well as perennials such as Wooly Daisy and Monkeyflower. Also makes a nice container specimen and is really loved by hummingbirds and carpenter bees.
