Description:
This lily is found in nature in the middle elevations of the Sierras. Proven tolerant of lowland conditions, it does very well in the Bay Area, provided it gets a fair amount of shade and moisture. (Do not keep it soggy). A beautiful addition to the woodland garden, the four foot flower stalks carry horizontally held, brilliant tangerine orange flowers in summer. Combines well with other shade lovers such as Sword Fern, Columbine, and Redwood Sorrel. When planting this bulb, bury the crown just below the soil surface and mulch well.
