Similar in habit to our local Pink Flowering Currant, Ribes sanguineum differs in having deep pink (almost red) flowers. This shrub's abundant late winter - early spring flowers are an excellent hummingbird attractor, while its midsummer berries feed a variety of songbirds. The Red Flowering Currant prefers light shade and occasional water, will reach approximately 7 by 7 feet, and is late summer and fall deciduous.
