Festuca californica 'Blue Fontain' - California Fescue

Description

This cultivar of California fescue was selected from the Mt. Hamilton Range east of San Jose. The arching 2' leaves are colored chalky blue. Like the species, 'Blue Fountain' sends up 3-4' flowering stalks in summer. This large, graceful bunch grass is one of the most shade-tolerant of the grasses. Plant in sun or shade and give only occasional summer water or none at all once established.
