Delphinium decorum - Coast Larkspur

Description

Coast Larkspur is found in the San Francisco Bay area in grasslands, open chaparral and meadows. It developes a cluster of tuberous roots. The leaves are mostly basal and are dormant during late summer and fall. The flowering stem reaches about 18" and is graced by a raceme of dark purple flowers. Needs good drainage, to be dry during dormancy and some shade from hot afternoon sun.
