Delphinium variegatum - Royal Larkspur

Description

Large blue flowers on 1 to 2 foot stalks in spring make this local Delphinium a choice garden subject. Grows best in sun with good drainage and no summer water which can rot its woody rootstocks. Longer lived than most garden varieties but is a favorite of slugs and snails. Makes a nice addition to a wildflower meadow or perennial border. It is poisonous when consumed by humans or cattle.
