A beautiful plant, with silvery leaves, and lavender flowers in spring. Low, mounding perennial to 8" tall and 1' wide. Rock garden plant: needs very good drainage, gravel. Will not survive in heavy soils or clay. It does make a good container plant, however. Native to sunny, dry, gravelly sites in the Bay Area and elsewhere in our state. Striking purple blooms appear in summer. Deadhead after blooming and prune every winter for a healthy plant.
