Description:
Another selection of our local California Fuchsia, this one with a mounding habit to 1.5 feet tall and several feet across. Dense, furry gray foliage is carpeted with tubular red-orange flowers in late summer and fall, delighting hummingbirds looking for a late season snack. Full sun and infrequent water is best. Deer resistant in most gardens. Beautiful planted as a groundcover among native grasses, or near a wall it can spill over. Like all Epilobiums, an annual pruning to the ground in winter is necessary.
