Description:
Selected for its showy lavender flowers and dense prostrate habit, this selection of the Purple Sage will quickly form a dense mat 2' tall and 6' wide, often in a single year. Like most other native sages, the 'Amethyst Bluff' Sage prefers full sun, infrequent watering, and good drainage, although it will take heavy soils on a slope. Excellent for bees and hummingbirds. Nice as a foreground with other chaparral natives, like Ceanothus, Flannelbush, and Deer Grass.
