Description:
This graceful, spreading deciduous shrub grows to 10 feet tall and wide. One of the nicest native shrubs for shade inland or sun on the coast, the Hazelnut has felty green leaves in spring and summer, nice yellow fall color, and a beautiful, arching branching structure accented by dangling golden catkins (flowers) in winter. Likes dappled shade and takes water, though also takes drought when established.
