Description:
This annual member of the Phlox family is wide ranging in California. It will be found growing in grasslands and deserts in open situations, generally in rocky or sandy areas. This is a tall annual, it can grow to 3', with ball-shaped heads of powder-blue flowers. It will attract native pollinators as well as serving as an excellent cut flower. In your garden incorporate it into a mixed border or create a meadow of perennial bunch grasses where it will be at home.
