Description: This fast growing deciduous shrub is found naturally along creeks. Broad green foliage forms a dense round shrub in part sun; in full shade its form is still attractive, but more open. Many-petaled red flowers appear in summer. Leaves turn a clear yellow before dropping in fall. One of our most clay tolerant native shrubs, even withstanding seasonal flooding.
