Monardella frutescens Common Name: San Luis Obispo Monardella Size: 18"h x 18"w Sun: Sun-Part Shade H20: occ.H2O/dry Description: This rare Monardella is found only in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. It grows on stabilized dunes and sandy scrub below 200 m. This beautiful plant is threatened in the wild by coastal development. Monardella frutescens has a fairly open growth habit, showy purple inflorescences and interesting wavy leaves. Grow this plant in a sunny situation with excellent drainage and only occasional summer water.
