Description:
This geranium can be found in the eastern Klamath range growing in meadows. open sites in sagebrush shrubland and in coniferous forest. The stems reach from 1 to 3' in height and bear flowers in summer. The petals are a beautiful rose-purple, about 1 inch in diameter. In your garden give it sun to partial shade and some summer water. The Blood Indians used the leaves to cure headaches. The leaves are also used to treat colds by boiling and then inhaling and drinking the liquid.
