Description:
Our local shrubby Monkey Flower is one of the best perennials you can have in your garden for wildlife. Its apricot orange flowers are an important nectar source for hummingbirds, and the Checkerspot Butterfly lays its eggs on this plant. This plant can survive complete drought, but it looks lusher and blooms longer with extra water. Prune spent flower stalks to encourage more blooms, and cut back in late winter for a compact, bushy plant the next year.
