Lecture and Garden Walk:
Groundcovers for Every Garden
Saturday, May 16, 1-2pm
At Yerba Buena Nursery
In this class we will teach you about the variety of California Native groundcovers for sunny and shady gardens. Learn how to fill spaces in your garden where weeds once grew with these versatile, broad spreading plants. Groundcovers can be used in combination with other native plants as an excellent substitute for a lawn. You will leave with a knowledge and appreciation for how to create a garden design incorporating groundcover plants. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required.

Sat. Jun. 20 - Father's Day Tea
Sat. Sept. 12 - Friendship Tea
Sat. Oct. 10 - Fall Tea
Sat. Nov. 7 - Harvest Tea
On these days, we offer a traditional Tea Service which includes sandwiches, scones, pastry and hot tea. Tea is served at 12 noon in the Farmhouse Great Room. Guests are seated at private tables with lovely linen and china settings. The meal is substantial, more like a "lunch." Vegetarian menu is available with advance notice. Bring a friend and combine your tea with a stroll through our gardens. Guests age 12 and over are welcome. Cost is $30 per person, prepaid, tax included. Reservations are required.

Going Native Garden Tour
Sunday April 19, 10am - 4pm
This free, self guided tour of private Peninsula homes landscaped with native plants is well worth attending. You can visit 45 gardens, meet the owners and talk with them about their experiences in gardening with natives. This is a great opportunity to introduce friends to gardening with natives. Some locations will feature talks, others will have plants for sale. Yerba Buena Nursery is an event sponsor.

Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour
Sunday May 3, 10am - 5pm
A free self-guided tour of 60 Alameda and Contra Costy County gardens. Gardens range from Jenny and Scott Fleming's 50-year-old collector's garden to brand new installations, from five acre lots to small front-yard gardens, and from gardens designed and installed by owners to those designed and installed by professionals. Weed Removal Video Game "How Bunny Saved California"
"How Bunny Saved California" is an original video game which teaches the importance of removing invasive plants that plague California. Bunny, the game's heroine, makes a valiant effort to pull, dig and wrench out some nasty weeds before they spread and crowd out the native plants. The game can be played online for FREE on our website. The game was designed by Martin Jennings-Teats and sponsored by Yerba Buena Nursery. Let us know how you like it!

Be Eco-Friendly, Recycle We Need Pots!
In consideration of our environment, we recycle used one, five and fifteen gallon plastic pots in unbroken condition. We are unable to accept other pot sizes and all pots must be in reuseable condition. Please bring your pots by on your next visit to our Nursery and keep them out of the landfill!
