As California’s oldest retail native plant nursery, Yerba Buena Nursery has been growing, selling and educating about the value of using native plants in garden settings since 1960. Our superb location in the Coastal Mountains and natural presentation of plants has earned us the title of the "World’s Most Beautiful Native Plant Nursery."

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Gerda Isenberg Demonstration Garden - Path

Learn about native plants from various parts of California. We will talk about Coastal plants, drought-tolerant plants, deer-resistant plants, and plants that attract birds, butterflies or beneficial insects, and can tailor the tour to the interests of your group. We will guide you through the Gerda Isenberg Demonstration Garden, where mature specimens of the plants we grow are featured.

Also included will be a "behind the scenes" tour of our normally closed to the public greenhouses and a discussion of the growing operations. We will tell you the history of the nursery and show you the historic farmhouse and private gardens started by the nursery’s founder, Gerda Isenberg.

Following the tour, we will provide tea and a scone for everyone in your group under the canopy of an oak grove. The tour lasts about 1 hour. Tours can also be combined with our formal tea lunches, for groups of 25-50 guests (see pricing below).

Tour Rates:

• Tour only: $15/pp, 6 person minimum.
• Tour and Formal Tea: $45/pp, 25 person minimum.

*** Please Note: no buses are allowed at Yerba Buena Nursery. We are at the end of a private road with several neighbors whom we do not wish to disturb. Please plan to use personal cars or passenger vans instead. Our thanks.
