Birdwatching at Yerba Buena Nursery Garden Guides | Garden Design Service There are hundreds of reasons why Yerba Buena provides such excellent birding opportunities. To name a few, our hundreds of native plants provide food and shelter for local birds; water is plentiful in the form of several ponds and lakes; pesticides and herbicides are not used here. The San Francisco Peninsula Birdwatching book, published by the Sequoia Audubon Society has the following to say about Yerba Buena Nursery: "If you have only two hours to bird in spring, this is the place to go." Birdwatchers are welcome to the Nursery during normal business hours and may birdwatch around the nursery grounds and the two acre Gerda Isenberg Native Plant Garden. We ask that the private areas around the Farmhouse and Barn be respected. No birding is allowed behind the old Barn or in the Private Gardens around the Farmhouse. Nursery staff will be happy to help you choose plants to bring home for your own garden that will attract birds of all varieties. Here are some of the birds that have been sighted at Yerba Buena Nursery. Please let us know if you have others to add to our list!
